  • About Shri Vikram Sarabhai :

Known as the cradle of space sciences in India, the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) was founded in 1947 by Vikram Sarabhai. PRL had a modest beginning at his residence, the “RETREAT”, with research on cosmic rays.

The institute was formally established at the M.G. Science Institute, Ahmedabad, on 11 November 1947 with support from the Karmkshetra Educational Foundation and the Ahmedabad Education Society. Prof. Kalpathi Ramakrishna Ramanathan was the first Director of the institute. The initial focus was research on cosmic rays and the properties of the upper atmosphere. Research areas were expanded to include theoretical physics and radiophysics later with grants from the Atomic Energy Commission.

He led the Sarabhai family-owned business conglomerate. His interests varied from science to sports to statistics. He set up the Operations Research Group (ORG), the first market research organization in the country. Most notable among the many institutes he helped set up are the Nehru Foundation for Development in Ahmedabad, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), and the Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) and the (CEPT). Along with his wife Mrinalini Sarabhai, he founded the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts. Other projects and institutions initiated or established by him include the Faster Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) in Kalpakkam, Variable Energy Cyclotron Project in Calcutta, Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) in Hyderabad and Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) in Jaduguda, Jharkhand.

Sarabhai started a project for the fabrication and launch of an Indian satellite. As a result, the first Indian satellite, Aryabhata, was put in orbit in 1975 from a Russian cosmodrome. He was the founder of the Indian Space Research Organization.

  • Eligibility :

The Quiz is open to anyone who has an interest in Cyberspace or wants to learn more about the scope and ambit of every aspect of the Cyber Law related issues, which involves the use of a computer or the internet. This program highlights Cyber Laws in the areas of Electronic Commerce, Electronic Contracts, The Need for Cyber Law in India, National Policy on Information Technology 2012, important terms related to Cyber Law, The History of the Internet, and The World Wide Web, and many more topics. Students are required to participate individually and not in teams.

  • Details of Quiz :

The Quiz will be held online, covering various aspects of questions related to the cyber world.

The Quiz will be in an MCQ format, comprising a total number of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.

Each correct attempt will fetch you 3 Marks.

The duration of the Quiz will be – 80 Minutes.

The Candidates are required to attempt the Quiz on the 30th of June 2022

  • Prizes: There will be three winners [Based on ranks 1 to 3]

Winners shall be awarded the following prize money:

  • First Prize: INR. 1000/- + E-copy merit certificate
  • Second Prize: INR. 500/- + E-copy merit certificate
  • Third Prize: INR. 250 /- + E-copy merit certificate

Note: E-certificates of participation will be issued to all participants.

  • Date for Online Quiz: 30 June 2022
  • Time for Online Quiz: Sharp at 11:30 AM on the 30th June 2022
  • Declaration of Final Results: 04th July 2022

The test shall be deactivated on the midnight of the 1st July 2022 at 12:00 AM
